MLX90333 is a Triaxis ® The position sensor IC can sense any magnet moving around it by measuring and processing the three spatial components of the magnetic flux density vector (i.e. Bx, By, and Bz).
The horizontal components (Bx and By) can be induced through the magnetic gathering point (IMC), while the vertical components (Bz) can be induced through traditional Hall plates.
The MLX90333 has a 3D magnetometer mode, in which the 3D information of magnetic flux density can be reported through SPI.
The MLX90333 also features a non-contact position sensor mode, suitable for rotary position sensors (through axis magnets), linear stroke position sensors (magnet displacement parallel to device surface), and 3D/"joystick" position sensors.
The processed position information will ultimately be reported in the form of proportional analog output or PWM (pulse width modulation) signals. In 3D/"joystick" mode, the device has 2 independent outputs. The 3-pin SPI (serial interface) mode can also be used to transmit position information to the host controller.
The output transmission characteristics are fully programmable (such as offset, gain, clamp level, linearity, thermal drift, filtering, range...), thus meeting any specified requirements through line end calibration. The Meilaixin programming unit PTC-04 is specifically designed to communicate with devices and calibrate them through connector terminals (Vdd Vss Out).
The target application of MLX90333 is a large number of non-contact position sensor applications commonly found in automotive and industrial systems, especially suitable for linear displacement and "joystick" sensing applications.
